Industrial & Organisational Psychology for scaling clarity, leadership, and structure
I’m Gerrit Louw, founder of Ernestco—an industrial and organisational psychologist and organisational consultant.
I work with founders, CEOs, and leadership teams in growing organisations who feel the strain of scaling: execution slows, decisions bottleneck, roles blur, accountability weakens, and the same issues keep resurfacing under new names.
In most cases, performance problems aren’t caused by “bad people” or lack of effort. They happen when clarity, leadership behaviour, and organisational structure fall out of alignment as complexity increases. The result is predictable: leaders work harder, coordination gets heavier, and momentum becomes harder to sustain.
Ernestco exists to diagnose and resolve organisational friction—so change is based on what’s actually driving the breakdown, not opinion, personality, or generic playbooks. Our work sits at the intersection of organisational consulting, leadership consulting, and organisational design.
We use the EPOS operating system, a diagnostic framework that identifies whether performance friction is primarily driven by clarity, behaviour, or structure—before any intervention is proposed. This diagnostic-first approach replaces guesswork with precision and sequence, focusing on the smallest effective intervention needed to restore alignment, execution, and leadership capacity.
